Lisa succeeded to the role of senior partner after the retirement of John Lewis and has been with the firm for many years. The whole of her professional career has been spent dealing with properties in the local area.

Lisa also specialises in elderly client care including LPA’s and Will writing.

Liz Knott

Liz has worked in the legal profession for many years. As well as being a Licensed Conveyancer she is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and has a wide range of experience in all kinds of conveyancing work. Liz is one of the Directors of the Company.

Liz specialises in dealing with property buying companies who require a fast service – often only two weeks from beginning a matter to completion.

Jo Simpson

Jo has worked in conveyancing for over 20 years firstly as a secretary and later studying with the Institute of Legal Executives, qualifying in 2010. Jo moved to Derby in 2007 and joined the firm in January 2018. In 2019, Jo was appointed as one of our Directors. She deals with all aspects of property transactions. Jo has a very good relationship with many local estate agents who like her friendly manner and excellent communication skills.

Wendy Kinsey

Wendy has worked within the legal profession for over 30 years, primarily in Residential Conveyancing. She moved from the Manchester area and joined the firm in 2016.

In September 2015, she commenced the Licensed Conveyancers course, completing Level 4 in 2018, and is currently studying for her Level 6 examinations to qualify.  She deals with all aspects of property transactions and always aims to provide an efficient and personal service.

Rachel Kirkley

Rachel is a Conveyancer and joined the firm in October 2014. She has worked in the legal profession for over 15 years, mainly in residential conveyancing. She previously studied with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives but having decided she wanted to specialise in property law with the Council of Licensed Conveyancers to become a Licensed Conveyancer, which she achieved her qualification in May 2020.

Lucy Hodgkinson

Lucy started her career in the property industry in 2007, working for a number of high street estate agents. Lucy has vast experience with the sale, purchase and letting of all types of property. In 2015, Lucy decided a natural progression would be to gain further training in the conveyancing industry. After receiving on the job training whilst completing the Council of Licensed Conveyancers course in property law, she is now a qualified licensed conveyancer and deals with areas of property transactions such as freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, purchase of new build properties, shared ownership, remortgages and transfers of equity.

Kirsty Smith

Kirsty joined John M Lewis in 2021 having worked in the legal profession for over 20 years. Kirsty has worked for a number of the larger firms within Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, working primarily in conveyancing throughout this time. Kirsty took on a fee earning role in 2013 and is currently working through her formal qualification to become a Licensed Conveyancer.

Christopher Maughan

Chris joined John M Lewis in 2019 and shortly after, qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2020. Chris has a background in the banking sector and has previously worked for a surveying firm. He started his legal career in 2014 and now deals with all aspects of conveyancing on behalf of his clients.
